Abstract :
Distinctive difference of discharge current is detected between fixed gap electrostatic discharge and that with electrostatic discharge(ESD) generator moving to the target from certain distance away. Discrete properties of ESD in air involve in air pressure, temperature, relative humidity, purity state of electrode. With Townsend theory and ESD model for short gap situation, analyzed are remarkable variations of discharge parameters with electrode moving velocity to the target, and the curse of parameter threshold phenomenon appeared in micro-gap ESD.
