Abstract :
The paper deals with an interaction between a lightning stroke and electrical tower (pylon). The problem is handled via transmission line (TL) approximation which is shown to be well suited to account for the different arms and to treat the tower as a radial network of interconnected line conductors. This direct time domain technique is based on the FDTD (Finite Difference Time Domain) and the treatment of direct lightning strike on a tower.
