Abstract :
In this paper, a cross-layer design of adaptive tone reservation for PAPR reduction technique with throughput constraint for multi-user OFDMA systems is proposed. A tone reservation (TR) is an efficient technique to reduce the PAPR, which is the main problem in OFDMA systems. In order to reduce the PAPR with satisfied throughput requirement of the OFDMA systems, the cross-layer design between a resource allocation and a PAPR reduction is proposed. In this paper, a non-selected tone resulted from the optimal subcarrier allocation algorithm, based on the subcarrier´s channel gain approach, will be used as a reserved tone. The tradeoff between PAPR and throughput requirement is evaluated by determining the optimal number and position of reserved tone. Performance evaluation of the proposed technique is presented to prove its benefits. From the simulation results, the optimized PAPR and throughput could be jointly achieved with the satisfied requirements and a low computational complexity.
