Abstract :
Heat exchange between an object and environment can be split into conductive, convective and radiative parts. It is quite a common to think that the radiation plays a role only at temperatures well above 100°C. In practice, such criteria should be checked for particular application in mind. With simple estimations, it is shown that utilizing of the IR radiation may enhance the heat transfer through the bulk of material, already at the temperatures below 100°C. The only requirement here is partial or full transparency of the material in certain IR range.
