Abstract :
In this paper a hybrid instrumental environment for hydro turbine power adaptive control implementation is presented. It consists of MATLAB-based nonlinear discrete plant model, programmable logical controller (PLC) and data acquisition hardware. The dynamic behavior of a hydro turbine is investigated in the case of whole range of power variation. The parameter-dependent model is developed. The gain scheduling technique is implemented in the software environment of PLC. The simulation results obtained from the both adaptive and conventional PI controllers are discussed. They show the advantages of the proposed adaptive gain scheduling control system. The system signals and other important information are viewed by SCADA on the PC work station. These research works are carried out in laboratory conditions similar to industrial applications.
