Abstract
This paper researches on a real time frequency modulation continuous wave (FMCW) short range radar system. It has 160us modulation time and 600MHz bandwidth in X-band. Additional Delay line is inserted in receiver to shift the beat frequency up band and it makes easy to distinguish target beat signal from leakage noise. The gain variable amplifier is used to remove the internal noise and amplify the desired beat signal. FPGA chip is used as buffer after data acquisition and DSP chip is used to calculate the distance.
