Abstract :
The experiments to acquire the basic data of the ultra-wideband radar have been performed. In the experiments, targets are located at the back of the extruded polystyrene foam (Styrofoam) wall, and the antenna is scanned over the Styrofoam wall at the constant distance while the responses are recorded. For the experiments, the ultra-wideband radar consists of an oscilloscope, an impulse generator, an antenna which is operated over ultra-wideband, a scanner, and a control computer. The radar aperture is synthesized by linearly scanning the antenna. The acquired data are numerically processed using Matlab software. The radar responses are focused using the back projection imaging algorithm.
