Abstract :
This paper considers practical application of signals reconstruction theory in radar for improvement of radar range resolution. Setting and solving the signals reconstruction problem involves development of a mathematical model of the input signal distortion and finding an estimate of the true input signal by processing the observed signal with a reconstruction filter. The conditions for feasibility of using the reconstruction filter are stated. Simulation results of radar signal formation and processing are presented. It is shown that using the Wiener filter instead of the matched filter can increase range resolution by a factor of 2 with the same receiver bandwidth.
