Abstract :
This paper introduces a novel design of random noise ultra-wideband (UWB) radar signal, which is constructed by combining the step-frequency technique and the random noise signal technique. It is called as stepped-frequency random noise signal (SFRNS). Matched filtering approach is adopted, i.e. each sub-pulse is matched filtering processed in frequency domain and then their spectra are coherently synthesized to achieve UWB. Simulations verified the high-resolution ability of SFRNS.
