Abstract :
Ground based synthetic aperture radar (SAR) interferometry has already demonstrated its effectiveness in detecting manmade structures deformation and slow moving objects. A vehicle based stepped frequency continuous wave (SFCW) radar for differential interferometry has been developed in National University of Defense Technology. In this paper, the system characteristic and performance together with the results of displacement measure experiments were described. Thanking to the real-time calibration technology, the high speed SFCW synthesizer and the novel antenna array, the system can provide images at a minimum interval of 50ms with about 0.5mm displacement sensitivity, 0.3m range resolution, and 28.57 mrad azimuth angular resolution.
