  • Abstract
Image registration is an essential step before image reconstruction especially in medical image processing. With the way of microscopic imaging to rebuild the periodontal tissue spatial structure, the slice used for the microscopic observation will lead to error. In the paper, the error will be reflected in the images of rabbit teeth slice. In order to reduce the error, the paper respectively applied the rigid and non-rigid registration method in the image processing. Because of the specialty of the slice of the teeth and the complication of the soft tissue around the teeth, the rigid registration and the non-rigid registration were both used in the proposed application. The rigid registration was used for reducing the difference between the registration image and the target image which we called the whole registration. The local registration was solved by the nonrigid registration, the B-splines registration, which further decrease the images´ diversity. The images of the rabbit´s teeth were used to verify the effectiveness of this approach.
