Abstract :
Balancing order property of totally interpolating biorthogonal multiwavelet systems with finite impulse response two-band multifilter banks is studied. Based on interpolating and FIR properties, we show that approximation order condition is equivalent to balancing order condition. As a consequence, prefiltering can be avoided if a totally interpolating biorthogonal multiwavelet system satisfies approximation order conditions.
