Abstract :
Anatomical and physiological target localization of the Subthalamic nucleus (STN) has a paramount importance for the proper treatment of advanced Parkinson´s disease (PD) patient using Deep Brain Stimulation microelectrode. Square root of the mean value of the square of the input values is the measure of the power in the signal and the general level of activity of the signal can be assessed by its value. In the future we would like to conduct a study in a large sample size to predict the neuronal activity of deep brain structures of the whole electrode trajectory. This might help us to determine the Deep Brain Stimulation intensity for the treatment of Parkinson´s disease.
