Abstract :
Ultra-wideband (UWB) radio has recently gained more interest for biomedical applications. Depending on the specific usage, the required receiver accuracy varies. This work provides a method to calculate the required dynamic range of the receiver for a given change in tissue material. A digital equivalent-time sampling receiver architecture is proposed to cope with the wide variation in the required accuracy. The architecture is both analyzed by simulations and theoretical formulas. Effects of random errors are included in the model.
