Abstract
The paper discusses the approaches used in the algorithm design of radar image processing. They are based on parametric and non-parametric spectral analysis and compared to each other using well-known example of simulated data for the inverse synthetic aperture radar application. The goal of the processing is meeting two requirements which are reducing smeared Doppler shifts and improving image resolution. The proposed parametric identification method allows estimating signal model parameters for the short dwell time and extrapolating radar data outside this time. This radar image performance satisfies the requirements as well as joint time frequency transform.
