Abstract :
A low-power microwave applicator for mild selective heating of human skin is proposed. The small-sized applicator with standard a coaxial feeder operates at ISM frequency 24.125 GHz. A special dielectric lens allows localizing microwave energy in the skin later around the central axis of the antenna. Two numerical models: 3D FDTD and 2D FEM are utilized for simulating the electromagnetic characteristics of a microwave device and temperature patterns in the interaction domain.
