Abstract
A time-domain tool is developed for analyzing pulsed fleld electromagnetic interference problems in configurations with wireless transfer of digital signals. Versatile model signals with a small number of parameters are provided that can be matched to signals occurring in practice via characteristics that are taken from the pertaining pulse shapes in time, in con junction with their shapes in the corresponding spectral (Bode) diagrams. The tool is intended to contribute to the discussion how the system´s emission and immunity levels can best be specified in the time domain (where the actual interference takes place), ft is demonstrated that the signals generated by recently constructed ultra-short monocycle pulse generators are adequately handled by the models provided. The tool also provides means for predicting signal integrity in integrated circuits.
