Recent R&D programs of microwaves, MM-waves, and THz technologies in Korea

Recent R&D programs of microwaves in Korea are presented in this paper. Included are R&D projects from radio frequencies to visible light that are being conducted by academia, research institutes, and industry under the support of several major government programs. Although the main interests are focused on wireless networks, broadcasting systems, and satellite communication, the funding for the fundamental research is also emphasized. Therefore, research activities in future technologies such as THz and visible light applications, as well as cognitive radio technology, are well supported by the government R&D programs.
