Abstract
The performance of energy detection using outdated channel state information (CSI) over Rayleigh fading is studied where a closed form expression for the average probability of detection is derived. This expression unveils the dependence of the probability of detection on the estimated CSI as well as the fading correlation function. Using this dependence, we propose a novel adaptive sensing-scheduling algorithm that outperforms the fixed sensing-scheduling energy detector with no CSI information. The accuracy of the derived results is verified using computer simulations.
