Abstract :
This paper presents a heuristic algorithm that effectively schedules lateness-sensitive radar tasks, reducing latency in the scheduled tasks. The algorithm introduces time-windows that specify allowable earliness and lateness of radar tasks, and proposes a chaining process that combines the dwell times and the time-windows of tasks with consecutive priorities. Numerical examples on a search & track mission demonstrate that the presented method reduces latency in the schedules of lateness-sensitive tasks and lessons probability of target losses, compared to an existing timebalance-based scheduling method.
