Abstract
Liquid level in a tank can be measured by capturing screen. A web cam that is monitoring the tank sends image information into a PI control system, including pixel positions and 16 bit gray scales. After receiving the information, the control software analyzes and converts them into the real height. This system makes it possible to check liquid level on-line without any physical devices like pressure sensors that could be attached below a tank. That would not have deformed pre-existing facilities to install further sensors if need be, remotely taking the information of height. In this paper, we will show the control system using webcam specifically and discuss the results in our experiments and applications in industrial fields.
