Abstract :
This paper proposes a new technique for enhancing the performance of a joint transform correlator. A joint power spectrum corresponding to the input joint images was recorded as an optical intensity distribution using a correlator, and this recording technique was theoretically and experimentally evaluated for retrieval precision. The key method for increasing the precision is to prevent any power saturation on the CMOS sensor. Experimental results are presented to show that the proposed technique can successfully improve the correlation output. Precise retrieval will be possible by using this technique on the JTC.
