Abstract :
In order to improve the safety management level of the work vessel in deep water, the Fault Tree Analysis method is introduced in this paper. By taking a famous accident of the work vessel as an example, the Fault Tree Analysis method is used to make clear of the direct reasons and also underlying causes of the accident after qualitative analysis based on a comprehensive fault tree built for the accident. Then the corresponding risk prevention suggestions are given to provide reference for the safety management of other vessels working in deep water. The Fault Tree Analysis method is verified to be an appropriate and effective method in predicting and preventing the risks qualitatively and quantitatively to improve the safety management level of work vessel in deep water.
