The R&D Outsourcing of Manufacturing Firm under Modularity Strategy

As a new model of Industrial organization and integrating enterprise resource, modularity is increasingly popular with many enterprises in such a dynamic competitive environment. Different production mode will cause different R&D outsourcing operational mode with enterprises´ modular strategy. Therefore, under different operational mode, enterprise will face different risk and receive different efficiency, which has a great influence on the security and stability of manufacturing enterprise production and management. From the aspect of modularity strategy, the paper analyzes the relationship between manufacturing enterprise´s outsourcing and modularity, and then studies the researching and development supplier´s championship game model. The result shows that modular R&D outsourcing can reduce the uncertainty of business investment, and reduce operating costs, and improve their operational efficiency, and enhance competitive advantage.
