Abstract
This paper presents the combustion of pulverised coal in a mixture of CO2/O2 under oxyfuel firing conditions. The performance of two different oxycoal burner designs, a 35 mm core diameter and a 50 mm core diameter based burner was tested with different angles of deflectors, length of quarl under low and high stoichiometry. Based on numerical simulations, the main parameters influencing the stability of pulverised coal swirl flame were investigated.
