Rotor bar breaking is one frequent fault of induction motor. The actual operating conditions of motors must be taking account in detecting rotor bar breaking fault on-line. The band-pass filter can remove the interference signal effectively cause by harmonic of the network and inducted by the on-line detection system. The envelope of Hilbert has certain robustness in signal processing even taking into account the quality of power supply and the load fluctuation of the induction motors. Based on theoretical analysis, simulation and experimentation, the paper presents a new on-line detection scheme that combines the band-pass filter and Hilbert envelope analysis.
