Both peak-regulating of the connected power grid using VSC-HVDC in normal or emergency power support each other in the case of both sides of AC system have fault via VSC-HVDC, are dependent on its rapid reversal of power flow at any time according to need .First the mathematic model and control strategy of rectifier and inverter in two phase synchronous rotating coordinate is given, then an open physical experimental device of VSC-HVDC that has upper and lower controller is set up. To maintain the stabilization of the DC bus voltage and suppress the current, active power oscillation in the power flow reversal progress of VSC-HVDC ,a lot of experiments are carried out, the results show that the power flow can transit smoothly when the control objectives change and the experimental device of VSC-HVDC has good dynamic performance.
