  • Abstract
With the increase of service time, more and more attention has been paid on the long-term performances of silicone rubber (SR) composit insulator. After analyzing the characteristics of ageing process of domestic composite insulators in service, we put forward an improved method of 5 000 h multi-factor accelerated artificial ageing test based on IEC 5 000 h Multi-factor aging test method. This method is planned to more reasonably simulate the pollution process of composite insulators in the industrial inland pollution environment that contains heavy ESDD & NSDD contaminants, which can represent most domestic pollution environment, The melioration of the new method comprised prolonging the time of ageing factors. This method not only can satisfactorily rank performances of composit insulators and screen composit insulators, but also can successfully simulate environmental characteristics in service.
