Abstract :
The paper presents a method for non-contact cardiopulmonary monitoring by using a Doppler radar in the 24 GHz band. Instead of trying to extract directly the distance from phase observation in the baseband signal, we looked for a pattern in time-frequency domain. Using the Gabor transform, component selection, and Gabor expansion we get good data accuracy in the extracted vital signs even if the patient didn´t stand still and moved with large amplitudes.
