Abstract :
Electro-optic polymer modulators are an exciting technology that offer many benefits compared to alternative modulator technologies. In this paper we discuss recent advances in polymer modulator technology and their implication to current and future optical networks. Current research efforts into high bandwidth modulators, >;100GHz, are also summarized.
