Abstract
For analog signal processing, important goal is to design a filter with sharpness of step response and at the same time linearity of the phase response. For achieving these goals phase compensation technique to Time Varying classic filter consisting of delay element, comparator and function forming circuit. In this paper, the performance of the phase compensated filter is compared with conventional analog Butterworth filter. Results from simulation shows a bandwidth increase by 19.985%, 1.435% and 58.735% for low pass, high pass and band pass filters respectively. It was observed that in the phase compensated Butterworth filter there was considerable sharpness in the magnitude response with phase linearity in the phase response.
