Abstract
A single inductor three output converter is proposed which operates in discontinuous mode (DCM). The three outputs are multiplexed and are fed power one after the other from the same source. Due to DCM operation, there is no interference between the outputs. During the period when an output is not connected to the source, filter capacitors provide power to the load. The devices are turned off at zero current and switching losses are minimized. The constraint in previous circuits that all the outputs shall be of the same power level has been overcome and control is modified such that outputs with different powers are possible. Analysis of this converter is done and the converter has been designed for a chosen set of specifications. The converter has been simulated using PSIM and the results confirm the analysis and design.
