Abstract :
Forward converter is a popular switched mode power supply circuit that is used for producing isolated and controlled dc voltage from the unregulated dc input supply. This paper analyses the presence of chaos and spectrum of chaos in a forward converter. The simulations are carried out in PSPICE. The spectrum of converter during periodic operation is compared with the spectrum during chaotic operation and it is found that the height of the energy peaks are reduced and the energy is spread during chaotic operation, implying that the electromagnetic noises can be reduced using chaos. The simulated results are verified experimentally.
