Abstract :
This paper describes the Automatic Generation Control of two area interconnected hydro thermal system using Polar Fuzzy Controller. The system is incorporated with nonlinearities like generation rate constraint. The conventional PI controller does not provide adequate control performance with consideration of system nonlinearities. In this paper, Polar Fuzzy Controller has been developed and employed in the two area interconnected hydro thermal system. The aim of Polar Fuzzy is to restore the frequency and tie line power to its nominal value with minimum computational effort in the shortest possible time handling the system nonlinearities as well.
