Abstract :
In this present investigation the following electrical properties such as A.C conductivity, Dielectric loss factor, Dielectric strength, Volume resistivity and surface resistivity of nanoclay filled unsaturated polyester nanocomposite have been studied. The decreasing value of direct current volume resistivity and surface resistivity were found for the addition of nanoclay up to 3 wt %. Further increasing amount of clay increases the resistivities which show lesser value than pure polyester. The dielectric constant, AC conductivity and dielectric loss factor were analyzed and they show decreasing trend in same fashion for the lower content of nanoclay addition. The increasing addition of clay (<; 3 wt %) produces significant changes in electrical properties. The dispersion mechanism of clay filled nanocomposites was studied by using X - ray diffractogram and Transmission electron microscope.
