Abstract :
The effect of Phanerochaete Chrysoporium whole cells and their ligninolytic enzymes on models of colored industrial waste waters was evaluated. Model of reactive dyes waste waters from textile industry have been defined on the basis of discharged amounts, economic relevance and representativeness of chemical structures of the contained dyes. Phanerochaete Chrysoporium provided on effective decolourisation of direct dye waste water model, reaching about 45% decolourisation in only 1 day of treatment, and about 90% decolourisation within 7 days. Three types of reactive dyes namely reactive Red HE2B, Reactive yellow R and Turquoise Blue G are used to prepare effluent synthetically to optimize the parameters such as pH and amount of nutrient solution using Phanerochaete Chrysoporium. The rate of decolourisation was found maximum at pH 9 and 20 ml of nutrient solution. While treating the textile industry effluent with this optimized value, the result shows that the decolourisation was about 57.39% for yellow effluent, 52.3% for Blue and 50.71% for Red effluent. The feasibility of the fungi for decolourisation was obtained. The characteristics such as TDS, TSS and Chlorides also have been reduced greatly during the process, hence making it fit for reuse.
