Abstract :
The paper considers principal limitations of plasma opening switch voltage. The decrease of voltage multiplication with energy storage voltage growth has been recently proven. POS voltage is determined by energy spent to remove ions from plasma. Technical opportunities to increase POS voltage use applied magnetic field in the interelectrode gap and charge density decrease. The assessments demonstrate opportunity to use POS as a power intensifying element in the BAIKAL superpower generator creation program.
