Abstract :
Influence of surface roughness of dielectric electrode on high-density ozone generation is investigated. Tempax® glass and alumina ceramics are used as dielectrics. Average values of surface roughness of glass plate are varied from 0.004 µm to 6.6 µm, and these of alumina ceramics are varied from 0.045 µm to 7.0 µm. Ozone generation efficiency with a rough-surface plate is lower than that with a smooth-surface one. The efficiency reduction should be caused by the surface roughness that limits the growth of surface discharge.
