Abstract :
Particle-in-cell simulation have been performed to investigate the relation among the beam modulation, the current multiplication, and the two-stream instability in an intense relativistic electron beam (IREB) - plasma system which is in a strong Langmuir turbulence state. The results are used to explain the dependence of high-power broadband millimeter wave radiation emitted from this system on the density ratio of the beam electrons to the plasma electrons.
