Abstract :
Development of a high-repetition-rate (rep-rate) electron-beam (ebeam) pumped KrF laser is described. It aims at pulsed laser outputs of 20 J/80 ns at a rep rate of 1 Hz. Technical efforts are concentrated on diode-foil cooling, which is the key issue of the rep-rate e-beam amplifier technology. E-beam generation experiments have been started with the initial test results of several tens of consecutive shots at 1 Hz. Improvement in the energy-transfer efficiency in the rep-rate pulsed-power systems is also discussed.
