Abstract :
The new pulsed electron beam facility GESA-2 designed for material surface treatment is described in the report. The feature of this facility, in comparison to the first one - GESA-1, is the possibility to realize larger melted depths (∼ 100 µm), which are required for many applications. Parameters of electron beam being produced are: electron energy 200 - 400 keV; beam current 200 – 400 A; beam cross-section 50 – 100 cm2; pulse duration 5 – 250 µs; maximum power density at the target 6 MW/cm2; maximum energy density 500 J/cm2. All beam parameters are controlled. Main parts of the facility are described, results of beam parameters measurements are presented.
