  • Abstract
A brief review of recent Chinese-Russian joint Z-pinch experiments on Angara-5-1 facility is presented. The experiments showed that the nested wire arrays implosion increased radiation power and decreased X-ray pulse width because of the improvement in the tightness and uniformity of the imploded plasma. The experiments for studying the implosion of a tungsten wire array onto the low-density foams column were carried out. In this paper, an overview of zero- and one-dimensional MHD simulations for the wire array implosion experiments will be presented too.
