Abstract :
This paper presents the concept of fractional delay (FD) filter design with window method. In proposed approach we use window extracted from impulse response of the optimal filter which is offset by the fractional delay of the designed filter. The FD filter designed using this approach is not optimal if a single FD filter is considered but it offers better performance when applied to sampling rate conversion (SRC). The main advantage is the lack of large lobes in the stopband of overall interpolation filter specific to the use of optimal filters in SRC. Additionally we attain the ability to adjust the position of transition band of overall interpolation filter.
