Abstract :
Subwavelength arrays with some special microstructures can make time-reversed electromagnetic waves focus with super-resolution beyond the diffraction limit in far-field region. This paper presents a novel miniaturized subwavelength array of planar monopoles etched with some microstructured circular slots both in the monopole part and the ground part. It is verified by experimental results that the proposed subwavelength array can exhibit the far-field superresolution property by combining with time-reversed electromagnetic waves. The proposed subwavelength array is compact and easy to design.
