Abstract :
A computational scheme for the analysis of electromagnetic scattering from electrically three-dimensional (3D) perfectly electric conduction (PEC) objects buried in a lossy stratified medium is presented. The method of moments combined with the mixed-potential electric field integral equation (MoM-MPIE) is used. A three level modified discrete complex images methods (DCIM) is introduced to obtain the closed form spatial Green´s functions without any quasi-static and surface-wave extraction. The proposed method can approximate the contribution of both the lateral waves and surface waves, and it is more stable and accurate than traditional method for the lossy stratified media. In this paper, electromagnetic scattering from practical models buried in a lossy stratified medium is evaluated, and numerical results demonstrate the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed methodology.
