  • Abstract
The impact of 3D rotation on the characteristic parameters of dual-polarized antenna systems, including inter-antenna envelope correlation coefficient and cross-polar discrimination (XPD), are analyzed theoretically. The variable parameters are the 3D rotation angle of antennas and the initial environment XPD. Some special rotation cases that are much likely to happen in practices are discussed specifically. It is shown that the conventional 2D rotation analysis in previous literatures is a special case of the 3D analytical model, which validates our theoretical results.
