Abstract :
Based on the single charged particle model, we developed a theoretical method using a charged sheet beam bunch to enhance the radiation energy of the surface wave in vacuum when isotropic double-negative metamaterials (DNMs) are adopted in the semi-infinite space. Numerical results show that the amplitude of the surface wave can be greatly enhanced at terahertz frequencies over the single charged particle case.
