Abstract :
In this paper, a new circuit configuration for the three-phase three-wire series active power filter is proposed to eliminate voltage harmonic components. This three-phase series APF is made up of a two-arm bridge power converter, a filter inductor set, a filter capacitor set and a capacitor/resistor filtering set. One phase of the three phase proposed APF, without control of the power electronic devices, connects directly with any one of the dc terminals. Hence, the number of power electronic devices employed in the proposed configuration can be reduced. To demonstrate the performance of the proposed series APF, computer simulation using PSCAD/EMTDC software has been done. Simulation results show that the proposed configuration for series APF has the expected performance.
