  • Abstract
    WiMAX is one of wireless communication technologies can provide the high speed access service in future 4G networks. It has a big advantage over other competing technologies, such as, free to use, high speed data rate and long range communication. Therefore, for these reasons, WiMAX has attracted so much interest from researchers in the past few years. This paper investigates the various methods of achieving the improved performance of WiMAX in terms of the highest data rate by reviewing the available modulation techniques, OFDM and MIMO. The simulation models are developed to analyze the performance of the above techniques. The results of the simulation models will be presented and discussed to guide the system planners and designers to understand the reasons for what technique is appropriate to use in WiMAX to achieve and maintain the highest data rate.
