Abstract :
A Pervasive Computing Environment includes a variety of communication networks and service systems, suitable for providing variety of services to clients. One of the most important problems in such environments is service discovery, i.e. how a client can find more services that are interested. In pervasive computing environments, contexts play important roles for providing services that are more suitable to clients. Among directory-based and directory-less solutions for service discovery, we propose a hybrid solution in which context sources have extended roles as advertisement boards for services. To evaluate the solution a simulation tools has been developed and the results indicate that using context sources, our proposed approach has acceptable discovery time and number of exchanged packets.
